I would, first of all, like to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the government and people of Lesotho, for the wonderful work that the South Yorkshire community has done and plans to do for the people of Malealea.

Over the years I have come to realise that the best form of assistance is one that goes directly to the most disadvantaged members of the society, via the people to people superhighway. For meaningful and lasting results, such assistance has to empower the local community to engage new knowledge and skills to exploit the available resources and improve their lives. The South Yorkshire-Malealea Link is one such undertaking. I am therefore convinced that it will transform communities in ways never before imagined...............
